I love black. Black Cars. Black Cards. Black PEOPLE. The list can go on and on, but you get the idea.

Black oftentimes has a negative connotation, but I think that black conveys elegance and uncomplicated sophistication. Black apparel, for instance, is classic and versatile. I am in the process of rebuilding my wardrobe, and I find myself investing in a lot of black pieces because I can easily mix and match them in a variety of ways. If you are building a capsule wardrobe like me, start with black and venture out when you feel that you have enough basics.

The combination of this black pair of high-waisted black pants, and black top from Amazon Fashion gives effortless chic, and you can easily add accessories to dress the look up or down. I can even wear any of the pieces again without being too obvious. I may or may not have done so already, but in the words of Tabitha Brown, “that’s my business.” 

I wore this to dinner with a childhood friend that I haven’t seen in a few months. There are so many new, beautiful things happening in our lives and I love that for us. And guess what color my friend had on?
