There are times when chaos seems to be your middle name. When all you wish to do is lay in your bed and cover your head with a duvet. Your to-do list is filled with various tasks that you do not want to do; deadlines that you can barely meet; and people that you do not wish to see. It seems as though all you’re doing is rushing. Rushing to beat traffic. To make an appointment. To submit a project. You have brunches, lunches and dinner dates that you should have cancelled. You can barely keep your head above water. You look in the mirror and can only see a mere shell of yourself.
All of a sudden things got quiet. That friendship ended. You lost your job. You broke up with that guy. Your phone is no longer flooded with texts and emails. The only friend that consistently dials your number is ‘Scam Likely.’ And you suddenly feel restless and alone. You’re bored, and failing to realize that there is beauty in quietness. With stillness comes the freedom to build.
Now that things are quieting down, you should embrace this time. This may be the time to get to know yourself better. Who are you when you aren’t rushing to get somewhere? Are you truly living a fulfilled life? Are you even drinking enough water on a daily basis? I KNOW you haven’t been taking your iron and CoQ10 pills. Maybe it’s time to start taking better care of yourself. Read more books. Do yoga. Can you even touch your toes, sis?
This is time to get cozy with yourself. Who are you? Who do you desire to be? You owe yourself the chance to find out.
You may not be exactly where you need to be yet. Money will come (you’re a bossbabe after all), but you will never get this time back again. Take advantage of it.
Things are not perfect, by any means; but they never will be. This precious time could be used to draw closer to God, save/invest your money, and/or work towards a better version of yourself.
Use this time wisely, because in due time, you’ll be busy again; and you’ll wish that you had this moment back.
