Whew, this week has been such a reflective one. I spent time revisiting some of my old fiction drafts — and honestly, can you believe I’ve written tens of thousands of words over the years? I’ve just always hit a dead end, as though I wasn’t ready to complete a full novel yet. Somewhere along the line, that changed, and my story has really come together without extraneous effort.

This brings me to a little revelation. Time isn’t ever really wasted. I thought that I wasted years attempting to write a story and scrapping drafts, when I actually found little gems that will help to propel my story. Sometimes it’s your own work that inspires you the most. Reading through my past ideas reminded me how much I’ve grown — not just as a writer, but as a person. It’s almost as though I was dropping little crumbs for myself. With that being said, I’ll definitely be recycling some of my old work because the younger me deserves for her story-telling to be recognized as well.

Another beautiful highlight? I met my first content creator friend in real life! We originally connected on TikTok and finally met up for coffee. We yapped and kiki’d over light bites and lattes. It was such a sweet, grounding moment — the kind of connection that makes my creative journey feel even more real.

Lately, I’ve also been brainstorming ways to bring my first product to life. In the process, I realized I needed to strip away the noise and focus on what I actually need right now. And one of those things is a planner: something designed for women like me, who are balancing work, social life, creative dreams, and the crucial question — what am I going to wear? I know it seems like all all over the place right now, but I promise that there’s a method to my madness. Stay tuned.

Here’s to lattes, light-bites, and little revelations that nudge you into creating space for what really matters.

Until next time,

-D.
